Groundworks Contractors in Skipton and Yorkshire

Every building, extension, driveway and patio relies on the groundworks underneath it. Crown Hill Contracting is an experienced groundworks contractor based in Cononley, near Skipton, carrying out excavation, foundations, drainage, concrete work and site preparation for homeowners, builders, developers, farmers and commercial clients across North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Our Groundworks Services

Whether it’s a single trench or the full ground preparation for a new build, we bring the machinery, the experience and the same high standard of work to every job:

Site clearance, excavation and reduced level digs
Foundation trenches, footings and concrete pours
Concrete slabs and bases for buildings, sheds and garages
Sub-bases for driveways, yards and hardstanding
Drainage, soakaways and surface water management
Service trenches and ducting
Farm work, including tracks, yards and cattle grids

Drainage and Foundations

Yorkshire and Lancashire get more than their share of rain, and the ground here is often heavy clay, rock or a steep slope. Poor drainage and shallow foundations are the most common reasons we see patios sinking, walls leaning and gardens turning to mud. We dig foundations to the depth the job and the ground need, and design drainage to move water away properly, so whatever goes on top stays solid.

Working With Builders and Developers

Groundworks contracts are a big part of what we do. We work alongside builders, developers, landlords and commercial clients, turning up when we say we will and keeping the site moving so the next trades can get started. With our own diggers and operators, there’s no waiting on plant hire, and you deal directly with Tom throughout. We also take on smaller domestic jobs, from extension footings to the base for a summerhouse or pagoda.

Groundworks Across Yorkshire and Lancashire

We carry out groundworks in Skipton, Keighley, Harrogate, Bradford, Settle, Barnoldswick, Burnley and the surrounding areas. To talk through your project or arrange a site visit, call Tom on 07722 161675 or request a free quote.

“Within budget and on time” only goes part of the way to explaining why choosing the local firm, Crown Hill Contracting Ltd, was a good decision. Their accurate assessment of both what needed to be done and the materials that would be used, together with a high standard of construction work, has resulted in a project completed with minimum disruption that has won praise from us and our neighbours. Thank you very much.

Patio and Paving

Thank you so much once again for doing our garden. I can’t believe how fast you managed to turn it around! It looks fantastic and you’ve put my mind at rest knowing the walls are safe, especially on the public path side. Please thank the other guys who came too; you’ve all smashed it and left it looking exactly how we wanted it, as well as very neat and tidy. We will be in touch for more work in the future and will be 100% recommending you to all!

Flagging – Patio

From the initial planning visit through to completion, it was evident that Tom prides himself on providing quality workmanship and ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Tom and his team were professional and respectful of the environment in which they worked – they were punctual, hardworking and the site was kept clean and tidy. As the project progressed, Tom regularly checked in with me to make certain that I was happy with the work and to accommodate any changes that I wanted to make, and this extended to a post-completion visit. I can highly recommend CHC.
