At Crown Hill Contracting we build every patio and driveway from the ground up: dug out to the right depth, built on a well compacted sub-base and laid to a fall so rainwater runs away from the house. The result is a surface that stays level and solid for years, not one that rocks, sinks or holds puddles after the first winter.
Patios
Whether you want a simple flagged area outside the back door or a multi-level terrace with steps and retaining walls, we design and build patios to suit the house and the garden. Every patio is properly bedded, jointed and finished, including:

- Steps, paths and raised or split level patios
- Retaining and feature walls, built by our own walling team

Driveways
A driveway has to carry the weight of vehicles every day, so the groundwork matters even more. We excavate, lay and compact the sub-base, install edging and drainage, and finish the surface in block paving, resin bound or tarmac. As groundworks contractors, we also handle the bigger jobs, like widening an entrance, dealing with a slope or creating new parking from scratch.
How We Work
- Free site visit. Tom looks at the space, levels and drainage, talks through materials and gives you a clear quote.
- Excavation and base. We dig out, lay and compact the sub-base and set the levels and falls.
- Laying and finishing. Paving is bedded, cut and jointed with attention to detail at every edge and corner.
- Clean up. Spoil and waste are taken away and the area is left ready to use.
